The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin recently featured a front-page story on Recorder Karen Yarbrough’s Public Act 98-0099 (HB 2832).
Some key excerpts from the article
“House Bills 2832 and 2905 establish an expedited review process for fraudulent liens and make it a Class 4 felony to knowingly file one, respectively.
The bills were initiatives of Cook County Recorder Karen Yarbrough, and officials at that office are meeting with the city’s Law Department on Wednesday in hopes of hammering out details on how the new policies can best be implemented.”
