The Cook County Recorder of Deeds Office remains closed to the public as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the office remains closed, customers can submit plat documents and condo declarations to our office for recording consistent with the following:
1. Plats or Condominium Declarations that are submitted for recording must meet all of the prerequisite recording requirements relating to those respective documents. These requirements are established by law. Please consult with an attorney if you have questions about the requirements for recording these documents.
2. The correct amount of payment must be submitted along with your document(s) in order for them to be recorded. We are currently accepting checks or money orders to satisfy the payment of the recording fees.
Plat documents are generally priced at $133 per plat plus $2 for each tract, parcel or lot contained in the plat.
Condo declarations are non-standard documents under our fee schedule. Failure to remit full payment in advance of recording these documents will result in a delay in recording the document. Additional information about our fees can be found here:
3. Plats and condo declarations can only be accepted by our office if submitted via U.S. Mail or by commercial shipping carrier. Plats and condo declarations should be sent to our office as the following address:
