As we move into Phase 3 of the State’s Restore Illinois Recovery Plan, Cook County Recorder of Deeds Edward M. Moody would like to provide an update regarding the status of the office and the functions being performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, we are working to gradually re-open the Recorder’s Office to provide important services while continuing to protect those that work and utilize the services in our office.

In continuance of the Recorder’s efforts to provide important services while safeguarding the health of our employees and customers, the Recorder of Deeds office will remain closed to the public through June 15, 2020. During this time, we will continue recording documents submitted through e-recording, U.S. Mail, or through commercial shipping carriers.
